On behalf of the Illinois Chapter of the AT&T Pioneers -
Welcome to our web site!
The Illinois Chapter of the AT&T Pioneers is dedicated to demonstrating the
true “Spirit of Pioneering” in everything we do. Our focus is to continuously
integrate the Pioneer mission and values in all of our projects through the
enthusiasm of dedicated members, their families and friends. We share this
focus with our vendors, other employee resource groups, and every volunteer.
The Illinois Chapter currently includes over 20,000 active and retired AT&T
employees. If you're already a member, thank you so much for all you have
contributed!
If you have volunteered but not yet joined, or are just learning what it means
to be a Pioneer, here are just a few of the projects we are involved with in
communities throughout the State of Illinois:
- Partnering with elementary schools to provide school supplies,
backpacks, coats and shoes to kids in need
- Working with charitable organizations to participate in blood drives,
volunteer at food banks and support community shelters
- Preparing and sending care packages to our troops overseas
- Participating in activities with those in elder care
- Participating in Junior Achievement activities
- Sewing coverlets for infants in hospital care
There are so many projects, you are sure to find one you’d enjoy supporting.
If not, your membership dues help to fund projects even when you don’t have
the time to volunteer.
New projects are always underway! This year we will launch two that are
sponsored by Illinois Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn:
- “Laptops For Learning” will provide technology to school children who
would not otherwise have access to them
- “Our River Day” is down-to-earth volunteering, cleaning Illinois
waterways identified by conservation groups.
As a member and volunteer, your contribution greatly impacts your community
and strengthens the foundation of the Illinois Chapter. As a member, you will
learn and grow while helping others. This is the spirit the founders of
Pioneers hoped to achieve and see continue on.
Please explore our site, including the calendar of events, where you are sure
to find many topics of interest. It is our hope that through our shared
dedication in these projects and focus areas, the Illinois Chapter will increase
our contribution, grow our membership, recruit new leaders, and give back
more than ever before!
Yours in Pioneering,
Bernie Kuempel
