Morris F. Tyler Chapter #9
|

We are part of the largest volunteer organization in the world. Our Chapter has over 9000 member associated with our
5 Life
Member Clubs and 4 Active Member Councils.
For over 80 years the Connecticut Pioneers have answered the call. Our primary focus is on education and helping
those in
need. The AT&T Pioneers can be found feeding and clothing the needy, responding to disasters such as Hurricane
Katrina in
the Gulf Coast region. We also teach Kindergartners to understand the proper use of the 911 emergency system, help
4&5
graders to read and use computers with programs like Project Connect and Power up to Read. We have volunteers that
repair
the Talking Books Recorders for the government, these recorders help the blind to read. We have volunteers who make
Heart
Pillows for patients recovering from heart surgery as well as volunteers who make Hug-A-Bears for the local police to
give to
children in need. We paint maps of the United States on playgrounds to help children learn. We celebrate our Veterans
commitment to our country as well as supporting our troops still service in our military.
All of our Pioneer volunteers do this while juggling their own family obligations, work and other responsibilities. They do
all this
to just feel good and to know they gave back a little to their towns, cities, and communities.
If you would like to be a part of the Pioneer Spirit and to help others, please contact your local Pioneer Chapter
Administrator.
