Employees and Retirees affected by State or Federal declared disasters are eligible to receive
assistance from the AT&T Pioneers Disaster Relief Fund.  The fund is managed by the AT&T
Pioneers volunteers. The Pioneers Region Vice President and Region Managers will designate a
committee to verify the need and manage the distribution of money.  Up to $1,000 in
emergency funds will be distributed to each approved applicant.

Damage Assessment – applies to primary residences affected by qualified disasters

  • Minor Damage --- Home is still habitable.
  • Major Damage --- Will need repair prior to being habitable.
  • Destroyed

These categories are used for assessing need.  For example, a need for clothing would not be
an example of minor damage.  Clothing replacement would be common for the major or
destroyed category.

All assistance is based upon need – not income.

Examples (but not limited to) of types of assistance requiring immediate needs:

  • Food lost in refrigerator/freezer due to power outage, coolers
  • Personal hygiene items and medicine
  • Clothing
  • Cleaning supplies, laundry supplies
  • Minor building repairs, tarps on roof, replace a window, repair steps washed away by a
    storm, etc.
  • Hotel/Motel stays--Usually 3 nights.  In presidentially declared disaster, Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) begins reimbursement for longer stays.
  • Storage Containers--to store and salvage personal belongings.
  • Bedding and linens
  • Health and Mental Health--essential needs such as replacing prescriptions, eye glasses
